Dr. Barron was born in Mexico City and raised in Seattle, Washington. His experiences growing up as an immigrant inspired him to dedicate his career to expanding opportunities for people from all backgrounds. He has designed and launched leadership and professional education programs in partnership with major universities, corporations, and foundations, including JP Morgan and the Gates Foundation. Currently, he serves as the Executive Director of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA) Foundation, where he leads initiatives to broaden access to careers in the commercial real estate industry. Dr. Barron holds a master’s degree from Harvard University and a Ph.D. from the University of Washington, where he also lectures on leadership and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Gisele C. Shorter provides strategy, policy, impact scaling and fundraising consulting services to non-profits, coalitions and advocacy groups to help them expand their reach and strengthen their impact. Gisele’s career is rooted in a deep belief that an equitable society starts with an equitable education system. Over the past 15 years, she has led large-scale programs, research and policy initiatives to advance justice and equity, close health disparities, and ensure access and opportunities for BIPOC youth and communities to flourish.
